- Spring Session – March through May
- Summer Session – June through August
- Fall Session – September through November
- Winter Session – December through February (REGISTRATION NOW OPEN)
The term “Club Member” means a wrestler who has registered for, and at any point in time is currently registered in, one of TTWC’s 3-month practice sessions. Wrestlers who do drop-ins (whether individually or by purchasing a 4-practice card), were registered for a session but are not currently registered, or only do private sessions with one of our coaches, are NOT considered members. This is important when we host special events as there is often discounted pricing for such events for members versus non-members.
Tugman’s Tots
Ages 4+. Designed to develop basic wrestling skills through drilling fundamentals for young children. We will foster a non-competitive, safe environment and teach by using basic drills and playing games.
Elementary Youth II
For girls and boys in grades 2 through 5 who have more experience with the sport of wrestling. Emphasis will be on wrestling fundamentals but also include drilling and some live situational wrestling. Wrestlers in this cohort may also compete for Team Tugman during the Youth Wrestling season
Elementary Youth I
For girls and boys in grades 2 through 5 who are new to the sport of wrestling or who have less than two years of experience. This cohort will focus on developing foundational wrestling skills such as take downs and pinning combinations necessary for competing in folk style wrestling.
Middle School
For girls and boys in grades 6 through 8 and athletes of all skill levels. We strive to pair wrestlers with similar skill and experience levels as practice partners. This cohort will train to compete at larger, more prestigious tournaments for Team Tugman during the youth season. Athletes in this cohort should be prepared for more intense practices.

Winter 2024 - 2025 Practice Wrestling Session for groups
The following programs are being offered for our Winter session:
Competition Team Practices (Co-Ed)
This program is designed for experienced youth and high school girls and boys. Wrestlers who train with the Competition team typically compete in the tournaments TTWC attends. There are four practices per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for 90 minutes, and Saturday mornings for 2 hours. Competition Practice Club Members may also attend our Skills and Technique Club practices as well.
This session will prepare our athletes for post-season tournaments, including the High School New England Championships, the Youth New England Championships, and the NHSCA Championships in Virginia Beach.
After those tournaments, practices will transition away from a focus on folk style wrestling to freestyle and will focus on teaching and mastering the skills and techniques needed to be a successful freestyle competitor. This practice session is for those seeking to compete in free style. It is also for those who may not want to compete in free style but want to cross-train in another style of wrestling that will make them better folk style wrestlers. This practice session will also begin the preparation process for those athletes who intend to compete at the Marine Corps. Nationals in Fargo, ND in July. We recommend this session for advanced wrestlers who have a serious desire to learn freestyle wrestling.
If you love free style (and we know Coach Tugman does!) and want to improve, take this opportunity to join us.
Competition Team Practices (Co-Ed)
This program is designed for experienced youth and high school girls and boys. Wrestlers who train with the Competition team will be expected to compete in tournaments during the 2023 season. There are three required practices per week (M – Th – Sat) for 90 minutes. Competition Practice Club Members may also (and are encouraged) to attend at least one of our Skills & Technique practices as well.

Women’s Elite Training Program
This session is designed to get our women’s team ready for the World Team Trials in Texas in May. This is an invitation-only training program designed for advanced wrestlers and thus requires approval by Coach Tugman for participation. If you are interested, please contact Coach Tugman directly by email to discuss requirements and pricing: blairt@tugmanwrestling.com
Supervised Open Mat
The Open Mat program is designed for wrestlers who desire extra mat time during the winter months. The sessions will be supervised by TTWC staff, including Coach Tugman, but there won’t be a formal practice held during these times.
Skill and Technique Club Practice (Co-Ed)
These practices are designed for less-experienced wrestlers who are still learning the sport and thus will focus on the three basic positions every wrestler needs to master: neutral (on feet), top, and bottom. The session will be primarily folk style-centric and thus is
perfect for wrestlers of all age groups who are looking to learn proper technique and improve their game. We also recommend this session for athletes who have some “rec” team experience and have decided they want to move to the next level. Practice will be held two days a week.
These athletes practice on Tuesday and Wednesdays for 60 minutes. Our staff has the goal of instilling a love and passion for the sport of wrestling in each student. Wrestlers in this program may compete in a few tournaments but as it is a development program, there is no competition requirement.
Got what it takes to be the best?
Tugman's Tots (Co-Ed)
This class will consist of games and drills intended to help kids understand the movements and basic ideas of wrestling. Our goal is for kids to have fun and develop basic skills for the sport. The drills are designed to teach basic movements and can be modified to be easier or harder depending on the skill levels of each child. We will do warm-ups to help with basic tumbling skills (somersaults, etc.) to get kids to begin to develop body awareness which will aid in wrestling and most other sports as well.
These athletes practice on Thursdays for 30 minutes (4:45 to 5:15pm). Our coach is Calli Gilchrist a sophomore and honors student attending Choate Rosemary Hall Next year. Her aim is to inspire a love and passion for wrestling in every student. This is a great way to introduce your kids to the sport and help them gain basic skills while having fun.
